Email tools turned into suites.
The platforms that started as email for Shopify now sell help desks, reviews and SMS, and bill you for every profile you’ve ever collected. Postforge does one thing: email for ecommerce brands. Open source, on your own sending, priced for what you send.

Your agent does the setup.
Install Postforge from Claude, Codex or Cursor. Your agent connects your store and your sending, verifies your domain and drafts the automations you ask for, through the same API you use. Nothing goes live until you approve it.
Paste the setup prompt into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor. Your agent adds the Postforge MCP server and you sign in once.
Your agent starts the Shopify install and you approve it in Shopify. Customers, orders, products and consent come in with their full history.
Resend or Amazon SES, with your own keys. Postforge keeps them encrypted and never marks up what you send.
Your agent lists the DNS records to add, then checks SPF, DKIM and DMARC for you.
Your agent drafts welcome and abandoned checkout in your brand. You read the diff, run a dry run on real profiles and approve.
Shopify in about a minute.
Enter your store, approve the install in Shopify, and Postforge brings in customers, orders, products and consent with their full history. Webhooks and the store pixel keep everything live from then on.
- 1Enter your storeType acme.myshopify.com, or let your agent do it.
- 2Approve in ShopifyShopify asks you to confirm the install. One click.
- 3History comes inYears of customers, orders and products, then live sync.
Not on Shopify? Bring your own.
The same core takes data from anywhere. WooCommerce, Lightspeed and Magento follow as native integrations.
Your own webshop
Send customers, orders, products and events through the API; segments and automations work on them like on Shopify data.
Product feeds
Add Google Merchant Center feeds in CSV, XML or JSON to enrich your catalog per locale.
Webhooks out
An automation step calls your own systems, so a purchase in Postforge can update your CRM or warehouse.
AI-friendly by design.
Every automation, segment and template is a typed document with a published schema. Every operation is in the API, with the same permissions for you, your team and your AI. Nothing only the dashboard can do.
Typed, with real schemas
Definitions are validated, versioned documents, so an agent writes the real thing instead of guessing.
One API for everyone
The dashboard, your scripts and your AI call the same documented operations. The OpenAPI spec stays in sync.
You approve every change
AI changes arrive as proposals with a diff and a dry run. A person approves them.
Built on your store’s data.
Customers, orders, products and consent come in with their full history and stay in sync. Every order, product view and click lands on one timeline per person, ready for segments and triggers.
Full history
Years of orders and customers come in on install.
Live from then on
Webhooks and the store pixel keep every profile current.
One person, every store
A profile joins a person’s records across your stores.
Consent both ways
An unsubscribe in Postforge is written back to the store.
Automations you can explain.
Start from welcome, abandoned checkout, browse abandonment, post-purchase and win-back, in your brand. Every order they earn shows which email, which click and how long before the order, with machine opens left out.
Questions, answered.
What people ask before they switch, in short.
What is Postforge?
Postforge is an open-source email marketing platform for ecommerce brands. It connects to your store, brings in customers, orders and products, and runs campaigns and automations on that data, sent through your own email provider.
Is Postforge an alternative to Klaviyo?
Yes. Postforge covers what ecommerce brands use Klaviyo, Omnisend or Mailchimp for in email: segments, campaigns, automations like abandoned checkout and win-back, and revenue attribution. It does email only, sends through your own provider and is never priced per stored profile.
Does it work with Shopify?
Yes. Shopify is the first and deepest integration: customers, orders, products, consent and on-site events, with their full history and live sync. More platforms follow on the same core.
Which email providers can I send with?
Resend and Amazon SES, with your own keys and your own domain. Postforge checks SPF, DKIM and DMARC for you and handles bounces, complaints and unsubscribes.
Can an AI agent set it up?
Yes. Claude, Codex, Cursor or any client that speaks MCP can connect your store, verify your domain and draft automations through the same API you use. Every change an AI makes is a proposal a person approves.
Is it open source? Can I self-host it?
Yes. Postforge is open source under the AGPL-3.0 licence and runs on infrastructure you choose, with no lock-in to one cloud, email provider or AI vendor. The cloud version is hosted in the EU.
How is Postforge priced?
Fairly and predictably, never per stored profile. Sending runs on your own provider, so you pay them directly for what you send, without a markup.
Email is your best channel. Own it.
Open source, on your own sending, set up by your agent in an afternoon.
